The next day, Ed climbed to the top of the cliffs and explored the ocean side and a depression that looked like from the moon.
That evening, the fridge suddenly started working again after quitting Saturday morning which was good because the ice we bought was nearly gone and warm beer and wine is not as good as it is cold. We lost some of the meat so we are now eating cruising food, no more US mainstream grocery store food. Amy went food diving into our forward long term food storage ( we store daily food in the pantry area). Breakfast was with powdered milk, not bad if you make it up the night ahead and have it cold.
We are still just sitting here, catching up on pictures, doing some small projects and relaxing before the 4 mile sail to Black Point where we expect to spend about a week doing laundry, get good internet and some major boat maintenace work using the long flat beach.
Lots of interesting rock formations on the cliffs. During our afternoon swim, a large stingray swam under the boat, Amy was sure it was after her as she has a “history” with stingrays. They only eat mollusks.
was only about 5 miles from Staniel but a world away when you have an island to yourselves. We anchored in the lee of a 20m cliff to shelter from the winds which had turned to out of the ESE. After the local tourist boats left, it was just us and the big iquanas. We walked to the ocean side and glad we were not going on the outside, there were 3 big cats motoring thru the rough water and it did not look fun. The 3 ft iquanas live in burrows in the sand or in small caves and get quite aggressive if they think you have food for them. Did not see any small ones.
